Core Objectives

The GitOps Deployment Platform is a high-signal engineering project that treats deployment infrastructure as the primary product. Rather than focusing on application features, this project demonstrates advanced DevOps and Automation competencies through a production-grade, "safe-to-fail" environment.

The goal is to showcase engineering judgment over simple tool usage, moving code from a developer's machine to the cloud through a series of automated, governed guardrails.

Three Foundational Pillars

This project is built on three foundational pillars:

1. Operational Governance

Establishing a "sacred" main branch where no code enters without passing pre-commit hooks, conventional commit validation, and automated CI gating.

Every change to main is intentional, reviewed, and auditable.

2. Declarative Infrastructure

Ensuring that 100% of the cloud environment is defined as code in modular, version-controlled configurations.

Nothing is created manually. Everything flows through version control.

3. GitOps Delivery (In Development)

The target architecture uses reconciliation controllers to sync cluster state with Git, enabling automated rollouts and-more importantly-automated rollbacks when the system detects an unhealthy state.

Current State: Local development environment with kind cluster established. GitOps controller integration and cloud deployment in progress.

Target State: System converges to desired state automatically with zero-touch recovery.

Track progress

GitOps delivery is still under construction. When you work on reconciliation controllers or rollout automation, document the completed steps here to keep the narrative accurate.
